Ask anyone you know and he or she has probably heard of the book and the movie, “The Secret,” and the law of attraction, as well. The law of attraction, on a more basic level, simply means that your thoughts create your life.
If you think negative thoughts, you draw negative occurrences into your life and if you think positive thoughts, you will magnetize more positive happenings into your life.
Of course, on a deeper level, the law of attraction goes a lot further. Life is full of circumstances both good and bad. There are always going to be occurrences in life that we would rather not experience. But the law of attraction dictates that you have the power to increase the positive and minimize the negative.
Remember that the law of attraction is exactly that: a law, and therefore it dictates that every thought you have creates your life exactly how you think of it.
This is why you’ve heard the phrase, “Be careful what you wish for, for you shall surely get it.” That’s because the law of attraction just goes to work bringing about whatever you’ve wished for.
The law of attraction never judges whether something is good or bad, or is right or wrong for you, it simply acts on whatever instructions you give it and it goes to work immediately to bring about whatever you’ve said you desire.
There are several steps to using the law of attraction and how it works.
It always begins with a thought and ends with a result.
1. Your Thoughts Create Your Life
You may not always have the ability to control life’s circumstances; however, you always have the ability to control your own thoughts. When preparing to use the law of attraction deliberately, it’s beneficial to get yourself into a relaxed and receptive state of mind.
Once you’ve cleared your mind and find yourself in a peaceful place mentally, you can go on to the next step.
2. Focus on What You Want
To properly utilize the law of attraction, you need to be clear on what you want. It’s well known that the universe is the ultimate responder, and that what you ask for is what you’ll receive and what you think, you’ll create. It’s pretty important that you learn how to be focused and clear about your intention. If you do not know what it is that you want, then the universe cannot deliver your desire to you.
You may find it helpful to use the Contrast to Clarity tool found here to discover what you don’t want so you can really know what you DO want.
3. Set Your Intention
Once you are in a relaxed state of mind, have focus, and are clear about your intended outcome, then send your intention out to the Universe.
In order to set your intention, you must first feel the experience in your mind (and in your body, too) and it must be felt as if it is happening in the present moment. See yourself in that position, or with that person, in that scenario; whatever it is.
Feel the excitement or the joy or whatever emotions you can conjure up; put yourself in the moment of fulfillment right now.
4. Be Thankful for the Intended Outcome
Now, carry yourself around confidently knowing that your intention is on its way. Be thankful — beforehand — for the intended outcome and even go as far as being excited so that you cannot wait to receive what you’ve asked for.
Before you know it — the more you practice, feel, and believe — the more joy you will bring into your life and the lives of others.
And you’ll get exactly what you asked for!
