Because the law of attraction is always working in your life whether you realize it or not, you want to make sure that you are consciously and deliberating directing it to bring the things you want and to create the circumstances in your life that will bring you the most joy.

That’s why, around here at Great Living Today, we talk a lot about the intentional — deliberate — use of the Law of Attraction.

There are a few easy techniques to help you get started so you can make the Law of Attraction work for you so that you can get exactly what you want from your life. And the cool thing is, no one ever has to know you are doing these exercises.

1. Meditate Using Creative Visualization

First and foremost, if you’re truly interested in utilizing the Law of Attraction to its fullest potential, make sure that you begin each day with some form of meditation. Meditation brings your focus toward what you desire and what you expect for that day.

Creative Visualization is a powerful tool in helping you create the feelings behind your desire. Your feelings will drive the visualization that brings whatever you want into your life.

As you embrace the feelings of joy and happiness, you will see that more joy and happiness will enter your life. As you experience more joy and happiness you will naturally start attracting the things you want. Everything that comes into your life ultimately comes from whatever you are feeling.

2. Learn the Art of Being Grateful

The fastest way to bring about the things you want in life is to first look around you and be grateful for how much you already do have. When you are in a perpetual state of gratitude, so many more things to be grateful for will come our way.

You probably have far more to be grateful than you realize so it’s important that you take notice. When you start to understand the simple blessings of life such as butterflies or flowers, or friends or family, the food you eat, and the roof over your head, you’ll naturally feel more joy. Once you feel more joy, you will manifest more joyful events in your life. (And that includes material things you want as well.)

3. Write Down Your Thoughts

If you really want to get the most out of the deliberate use of the Law of Attraction, then you must consciously control your own thoughts on a daily basis. Sometimes you must control your thoughts on a moment-by-moment basis.

If you find yourself going into negative or self-sabotaging thoughts, you can take responsibility in several ways…

  • Think positively
  • Concentrate on all that you are grateful for
  • Give yourself positive affirmations
  • Write down your thoughts

Creating a journal and writing down your thoughts and desires on a daily basis will help keep you in the “attraction zone” so that you are always attracting the good things in life you want.

It’s a great idea to spend a few minutes each morning writing out exactly how you’d like you day to go. By putting focused attention on the words you’re writing, you’ll more likely find things going your way instead of things working against you.

In her book, The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron suggests writing at least three pages of “stream of consciousness” thoughts every day. While this can be a really good exercise, it is even better to use your writing time to consciously direct your thoughts.

Try these three exercises on a daily basis and see how much better your life goes.
